I've had guinea pigs before and there is a few reasons they squeak. a mother constantly squeaks when you get one of her babies and she knows you have it or she can't find it. also, if they don't wana be with you... they normally have reasons. either they're not used to you or they need to go bathroom and don't wana do it on you. also, if they are REALLY used to you, they'll squeak at the sound of plastic because that's what they hear when they're about to be fed vegetables or stuff like that and they want you to give them some. a guinea pig, especially a baby will squeak if you hold them because they're trying to get away and feel scared.
