The baiji dolphin was a freshwater dolphin and the first to be driven to extinction by humans. This species is thought to have gone extinct in 2006.
The Baiji Dolphin colors are pale, smoked gray as well as white on the Stomach
Bottlenose dolphin. The most endangered dophin is the Baiji or Chinese white dolphin
The term "China dolphin" commonly refers to the Yangtze River dolphin, also known as the baiji (Lipotes vexillifer). Unfortunately, this species is critically endangered and may be functionally extinct, with no confirmed sightings in recent years. Other dolphin species found in Chinese waters include the Chinese white dolphin (Sousa chinensis) and the Indo-Pacific humpbacked dolphin (Sousa chinensis). Conservation efforts are ongoing to protect these species and their habitats.
It may be hard to believe but there are approximately 36 different species of dolphins. There are 32 marine dolphins which live in oceans and salt water habitats and there are 4 river dolphins. If you add in the 6 porpoise species then there are 42 species. Some species of dolphins are bottlenose, white beaked, black, dusky, and Atlantic white-sided.
Become an animal rights activist and take progressive steps towards ending white dolphin extinction.
Stop polluting the waters and building buildings
I think white beaked dolphins live in tropical waters.
White elephants are not extinct but very rare. It is a gene combination that does not happen very often, but they do still exist.
Actually it was not declared extinct... The Black Rhino is critically endangered. The Baiji DolphinFunctionally extinct by 2006.IUCN: database entry.Scientific name:Lipotes vexillifer.Picture source (Wikipedia). An expedition organized by The Baiji Foundation in late 2006 sought evidence that Baiji white dolphins still existed in their only habitat, the Yangtze river in China. Scientists from six nations on two research vessels travelled for almost 3500 kilometres to the Yangtze Delta, and then retraced their route. They were equipped with sophisticated optical instruments and underwater microphones, but were unable to detect any surviving dolphins. The Foundation published a report on the expedition and declared the species functionally extinct. What does functionally extinct mean? It means too few potential breeding pairs remain to ensure that the species will survive.
White tigers are all decended from a very small number of wild caught white tigers. There are very few if any white tigers currently in the wild. However as a white tiger can be born to two normal coloured tigers and is not a species in itself, it will go extinct when all tigers are extinct

White tigers have not become extinct. They are a rare color variant of the Bengal tiger and still exist in captivity. However, in the wild, white tigers are extremely rare due to the genetic mutation that causes their coloration.
