The whitetail rut in Louisiana is a prolonged event, however, to cut to the chase, it can be narrowed to the week before Christmas with bucks being on the prowl searching for hot does building to a peak frenzie begining the day after Christmas lasting about four or five days afterwards. This is true for much of south east Louisiana. Be in the woods as much as possible during these two weeks.

Rut occurs in the fall.
The South Carolina deer rut or the peak of rut season for the Piedmont is between October 15th and November 15th.

The young bucks are starting to chase does. Full rut will be about the 10th of November.
There is ongoing debate among hunters and researchers about the impact of moon phase on the whitetail deer rut. Some believe that moon phase can influence deer activity and breeding behavior, while others argue that other factors like photoperiod and genetics play a larger role in determining rut timing. Overall, more research is needed to definitively determine the extent of the moon phase's influence on the whitetail deer rut.

They do not punch a time-clock. Usually, by the 1st of November rut activity is being seen. Bucks will be chasing does, but the does will not quite be receptive. All the way through the middle of November you will see rut activity. When the first rut ends, you usually will not know, because the does that did not conceive during the initial go-around will go into estrus again. In every area and county it will begin at different times. Year-to-year, it changes by a week or two. November is a very special month if you hunt whitetail deer.
No. Rutting season is always in the fall. Fawning (or the time when does [female deer] start to give birth) occurs in the spring.
Peak of rut in most of VA is first two - three weeks of November.
