she will eat when shes ready but you can try dry dog food and put a bit of warm dog milk on it! Because they do eat the afterbirth and all that comes out after each pup, most mothers are not hungry for a day or so. Provide food close by and especially lots of water. Keep them in a closed, quiet area for the first week. Make sure your female is drinking within the first day, eating by the second day, and urinating and having bowl movements. The first bowl movements usually come out black or very dark in color. This is because she last ate the after birth which consists of lots of blood. Sometimes you have to force a new mother to leave her babies to eat or go outside to potty. Sometimes you have a female that wants to leave her pups all the time. This can be alleviated by leaving her alone with her pups the first couple of days. No matter how much you want to go in and peek at the pups, hold them, and what not, let the mother bond first.
light food like kheer milk boiled eggs
Any female dog that has had a litter (no matter if it's a pure bred dog or a mixed breed) should have a good physical by their vet. Just as women do after giving birth. It's important the female dog has nutrients to give the pups when they are nursing.
Simple answer; yes. After giving birth the male &/or female will their fry. You should keep fry in a breeding net after birth. And keep female in another breeding net or aquarium after giving birth, this is so that she can recover fully before being mixed with male again. P.S. Stress from giving birth & male guppy chasing after her can cause female to die.
They usually don`t eat for a few days if longer than that call your vet
no you cant have two females in the same cage after one has giving birth they will fight over the babies... and the other female might try to eat the new born babies.
he is grooming the female; as either a sign of affection or a sign of sumbittance(submitiing to the other dog). It is totally harmless; my male dog does that to my female dog. he is in love with her and it seems to relax our female. = )

Female rabbits (does) eat a lot more than usual once the have given birth. They also shred paper and pull out their fur for the baby bunnies (kits, or kittens) nest.
A rabbit's natural instinct is to protect the herd (warren). In the wild dead baby bunnies attract predators so the mothers will eat them. They also eat any after birth. Sometimes mothers who are having a hard time giving birth will bite and/or tear at the babies while giving birth. This is why so many of the breeds with bull dog type heads have such low live birth ratios. It is hard for the mothers to give birth.
Platys typically give birth by releasing live baby fish, called fry, rather than laying eggs. During birth, the female platy may become more reclusive and seek out hiding spots to give birth in peace. The process is usually quick and can involve the female giving birth to multiple fry at once. After birth, the female may eat some of the fry, so it's important to provide hiding spots for the newborns to increase their chances of survival.
