Pet shops are a bad place to find a pet.It all stems from one thing: The main reason pet stores exist, is to make a profit from selling animals and their supplies. If that doesn't immediately strike a sour cord with you, consider this.

Anyone's whos ever had and loved a pet can tell you that two negative things take a toll on you during the part of your life that you share with an animal: heartbreak at the loss of an animal in your life, and the extreme costs that can be associated with proper care of animals. Neither of those is good for business.

There are so many reasons not to shop in a pet store that it's hard to fit it all into one page. Pet stores all over are selling animals to people who have no idea how to care for them - and by pushing people to buy animals on a whim, they are the #1 cause of animals ending up in shelters. Unprepared owners end up with one of two outcomes: 1) A pet they don't want, don't have time for, can't afford, or can't properly care for. OR 2) A rabbit who dies due to lack of knowledge of the owner, or poor breeding in the first place.

While many good people have made this mistake of buying a pet from a pet store, a great deal of those people have suffered broken hearts from the premature death of a pet. Many of these people will be the first to tell you that they will NEVER shop at a pet store again. http://www.qrabbit.com/petstores.htmlhttp://www.qrabbit.com/petstores.html

It is much better to find fplks who rescue whatever breed you desire, or go to animal shelters. There are tons of wonder pets waiting to be saved.
