I have both, I think they have the same temperament, even though I find my Norwich male to be the most affectionate dog I have ever owned.
Patterdales and Norwich are in the Terrier group.
Norwich Terrier
The Norwich Terrier does shed, but not as much as other dog breeds. It is a very light shedder. Grooming, bathing, and brushing a dog can make them shed less. These dogs have shaggy, medium length, waterproof coats.
The Norfolk Terrier gained recognition by the Kennel Club as an independent breed in 1960. Prior to this, it was seen as a variety of the Norwich Terrier.
Norwich terriers are only brown (or have a brown stripe down their back) and have thick wire hair. Cairn Terrier fur is light brown and can have a little black--usually around ears and nose/beard (others are all black), and is much softer and not as dense as a norwich terrier.

They're expensive!! When buying a Norwich always make sure it's AKC registered, otherwise you may not be getting a full blooded Norwich... they only have around 2 pups per litter so they are more rare. The cost is usually between $1500-$3000.
ADOPT from a shelter. ;D
A wire-haired terrier is a type of small to medium-sized dog breed known for their unique wiry, rough coat. They are active, energetic, and intelligent dogs that often require regular grooming to maintain their coat's texture and overall appearance. Popular examples of wire-haired terriers include the Wire Fox Terrier, Airedale Terrier, and Scottish Terrier.
