• Indochinese leopard (P. p. delacouri), (Pocock, 1930) - inhabits mainland Southeast Asia;
• Sri Lankan leopard (P. p. kotiya), (Deraniyagala, 1956) - inhabits Sri Lanka.

there is also the Sunda Clouded Leopard Neofelis diardiwhich is only found on Borneo and the Clouded leopard Neofelis nebulosa which is found in mainland Southeast Asia and into China

there are two subspecies of Neofelis nebulosa

• N. n. nebulosa (Griffith, 1821): lives in Southern China to eastern Myanmar;
• N. n. macrosceloides (Hodgson, 1853): lives in Nepal to Myanmar;

N. n. brachyura is considered extinct. The last confirmed sighting was in 1989, when the skin from a small individual was found in the Taroko area of Taiwan
