Possums are nocturnal, so they sleep during the daytime. They make their dens in shelters that are above ground, like hollow trees, rock piles, abandoned burrows of other animals. They sometimes will even come into your home if they can find a way into an attic or basement. They usually make their shelters near a food, and water source.
