However, you would need to first check what the laws are for your state/area. Some states will under NO circumstances allow you to own wildlife in a private setting. If your state does allow, then you should check for a reputable breeder. I live in PA, and here the only way you may own a raccoon is by purchasing it from a FDA approved, and Game Commission licenced wild life propagator.
Animal rescues are not going to hand over a baby raccoon. These are wild animals, and ones that have been rescued will either be raised and released, or if they are not able to be released they will be kept by a licenced handler to live out it's life. You may be able to volunteer at a rescue, but these places do not promote owning them as pets.
