On the Serial Number Tag located below the box on the passenger side. If the date is not listed there, write down the serial number and take it to your local JOHN DEERe dealer who would be more than willing to help.

contact john deere customer service with your info and they can tell date and location of manufacture. I did and was told my gator was built in 2001 and discontinued in 2006, worksite construction model.
Look on the same plate the the PIN (or serial number) is found and under the PIN is a DOM number (date of manufacture) for example 032006 March 2006
No there is no way to deode the serial number but by writing it down and taking it to your local John Deere dealer, they can easily help by telling you the year.
By downloading serial numbers I assume you mean a list of years and serial numbers? And for the record, only John Deere dealers have this capability to ensure that serial numbers are not forged or altered.
John Deere does not have an open database to lookup serial numbers for equipment. Your local John Deere dealer would be happy to help you find the year of your gator. Use the dealer locator on John Deere's website to help you find a dealer.
By checking the serial number tag, you might be able to see the manufacture date typed right on the tag, located on the frame of the Gator right below the box on the vehicle's right side. If the date is not listed, write down the number and talk to your John Deere dealer to find out its date of manufacture.
As an experienced educator, I must clarify that the question is incomplete and lacks context. The John Deere Gator is a line of utility vehicles produced by the John Deere company, with various models released over the years. To provide an accurate answer regarding the specific year of a John Deere Gator, the model or specific identification details would be necessary.
