If you are talking engine oil drain plug, it may be located in two locations. On the L/H or R/H side at the bottom of the engine there will be (or should be) a small pipe with a drain plug attached to it, usually this is located by the engine oil filter. I can't remember off hand where the trans oil drain plug is, but I know if you contact your local ( or closest ) JD dealer, they will be more than happy to tell you where the drain plug is for the trans oil, with no cost to you. Hope this helps!
john Deere 318 what oil in hydro does it take
The John Deere 318 with the serial number MOO318X31695 was manufactured in 1983. John Deere's serial numbers can help identify the production year, and in this case, the "MOO" prefix indicates it was produced in that year.

Not supposed to, the 318 was designed to have the 46 in or the 50 in deck on it. The 60 in decks mounting hardware that was used on the 420 is not the same. But if you can get it to work, good luck.
