Murray was a major heroin trafficker during the 1970's and early 80's in Detroit, MI. By the early 80's he had become Detroit's chief supplier of pure heroin working closely with Milton "Butch" Jones and the leadership of Pony Down. On the streets he was known as "the S-Man". Murray had a connect named Felix the Cat who lived out in California, and Felix was getting pure raw from Thailand. Thailand to Felix - Felix to Murray - Murray to the city of Detroit.

He was a church-going man. Quiet, conservative, academic, he owned several legitimate businesses in Detroit including neighborhood party stores and at least one car-dealership where local kingpins would come get their vehicles.

Despite his intellect and business acumen, he was also really stupid. He talked about his business on the phone a lot which lead to him constantly getting busted with large sums of money. In his car, at the airport, and at his apartments. His wife was a drug addict and "sexually liberal". He was taken down in the early 80's with the fall of Y.B.I.
