Only the Florida race is in trouble. As a species, they are holding on well. The white tailed deer is still a very common animal, as well.

i used to be common in North Carolina & now it's hard to see in Arizona cause it was origionally diurnal (avoid wolves) & now it's nocturnal (avoid people)
The cougar, or puma, or mountain loin, is endandered because people used to think it killed things for fun, so they started killing the pumas! it wasn't until years later that they realized it was just killing to eat and to live.

The only race of puma now endangered is the Florida panther. The cougar, or puma, is not endangered as an entire species. There are only reported to be about 50 Florida cougars left so they are endangered.

A cougar is not endanger now they might be in Florida but there a many were i live
