Hybrid spider monkeys, which result from the interbreeding of two species of spider monkeys, do not have a specific population count as they are not recognized as a distinct species. Their population is influenced by the conservation status of the parent species, such as the black spider monkey and the brown spider monkey. Overall, spider monkeys face threats from habitat loss and hunting, leading to declining numbers in the wild.
