They don't. Usually. The only reason I can think of is if they get sick with the flu. I have a friend and all of her guinea pigs have had 2 healthy litters.

Why do Guiniea pigs die after giving birth?

Usually guinea pigs don't die. There must have been something that went wrong during the pregnancy. Please read what is written below and see if your guinea pig fits these expectations. ---- A female should not be bred until she weighs 500 g, or is 4-5 months old. Also, no older female should ever have a first litter. Somewhere between the ages of 9 and 12 months, if she is childless, her hip bones will fuse such that she can not give birth naturally, and a later pregnancy will require a caesarian section. Therefore, if you plan to breed your female, or if you do not plan to spay her and the situation is such that she may become pregnant later on, you should probably see that she has at least one litter between the ages of 5 and 9 months. If an older female does accidentally become pregnant with a first pregnancy, you and your vet will want to plan on surgery to deliver the babies, otherwise she will likely die giving birth. In addition, do everything you can to avoid such an accident in the first place (for example, have your female spayed even if you think she won't be near a male), since a caesarian section is risky for both mother and babies. Why did MY female guppy was extremely bloated after she gave birth to her fry and died a week later why?

The bloating in your female guppy after giving birth could have been caused by several factors, including complications from the birthing process, stress, or an infection. Postpartum complications like retained fry or eggs can also lead to swelling and health issues. Additionally, if she was not eating properly or had underlying health problems, this could contribute to her decline. Unfortunately, guppies are prone to stress and health issues, especially after giving birth, which can lead to a quick deterioration in their condition.

What are the steps of guinea pig nesting?

Guinea pigs usually don't nest. Until you are a very experienced breeder and know exactly what to look for, most guinea pigs have their babies and you find out about it later. Even with experience some are very good at hiding the signs of impending birth from their owners.
