It is so that we can see depth in 3 dimension. If we had one eye, we would not be able to tell how far away things are. The only reason you can now with one eye closed is that you know the size of objects and can figure out how far away they are by their size, not relation to other objects. THE EYE IS BIG
for stereoscopic depth perception. It makes locating (and hopefully killing) prey far easier
