This is a person's personally prefrence. It depends on what you're looking for in a dog, etc. I happen to like Bulldogs for their loving big eyes and pug noses that make their face squish together into little rolls and wrinkles. c: Bulldogs do have quite a few health problems though, and no dog should be adopted based on just looks.
Miniature English bulldogs are exactly like regular English bulldogs only a tad bit smaller.
Some English Bulldogs like to swim, but typically, Bulldogs can not swim. They are heavily built dogs who just can't keep themselves afloat. When they are near water, they need to wear life vests for their safety. Some English Bulldogs do like to swim, others do not, as with any breed of dog. Bulldogs have short muzzles and a dog life jacket is essential to keep the muzzle and head above water, for bouyancy protection and to stop the dog swallowing too much seawater.

The American Bulldog breed was not developed until the 1980's however, the dog breed in which they descended from was the Olde English Bulldogge. The Olde English Bulldogge ( dating back to the 1700-1800's) looked extremely similar to the American Bulldog only it had more English Bulldog characteristics (like a shorter snout) than the American Bulldog.
Bulldogs tend to have tuns of wrinkles on their faces and a lot of times bulldogs can get allergies so some bulldogs will have a little red in their eye or sores in their fur. Bulldogs' fur can sometimes be shedding everywhere or if they don't have allergies or other times their fur can be thick and non shed.
Yes, Boxers come from a completely different kinds of families then Bulldogs. The Boxer comes from cross breeding of the English Bulldog and now extinct Bullenbeisser but they are a completely different breed of dog despite their origin. The English Bulldog and French Bulldog are short, stocky, have short muzzles, and are born without long tails. Where Boxers are tall, lean, longer muzzles, and have full tails at birth ( usually cropped later). There is an American Bulldog that somewhat looks like the Boxer but is still a totally different breed.
It depends on the dog. My three English bulldogs love being rubbed in different places. One loves being rubbed on the neck. Another loves being rubbed on the belly. The other loves being on the back.
There is no specific breed that is predestined to be "fat". However, there are stockier breeds such as English bulldogs, Mastiffs and Chesapeake Bay Retrievers that naturally develop more muscle mass and appear thicker than leaner breeds like greyhounds or Chihuahuas.
Old English bulldogs and french bulldogs do not shed a lot, however please note that like all dogs they do shed, and yes they both get along fairly well with children, with french bulldogs being slightly more social.
