Poodles do tend to go through a biting stage when they are teething especially. Poodles are a bundle of energy, mostly the males. It helps if you hold your puppy close to your chest while holding it's mouth and head closed, say "NO" in a deep toned louder voice than you usually speak. Make sure he can still breath. Your dog needs to realize that you are the master and leader and he can not behave like this. Never hit your doggy with your hands or be physical towards him in any way, only use behavior so he will submit to you. Whenever your puppy starts to bite and opening his mouth like an alligator, grab his mouth and hold it shut, you may need to hold him like this for ten or fifteen minutes, it will not harm your puppy. He may whine and cry, just ignore it, dogs want to be in control.
