A thorough belly rub focusing on the upper belly should do the trick. it will feel funny to touch a dog's belly when it hiccups but that should help. This works but here are some other things that work:

1. Stretch your dog out gently on the floor if it is a large dog to extend the belly area, for small dogs you can gently lift the hind legs but not for very long

2. Startle your dog with an unusual sound to get it to refocus

3. If those don't work then engage your dog in playing to get the dogs breathing pattern to change but again caution
