Most rabbits have a brown tinted coloured fur so i guess they could conceal themselves next to dead grass and mud. Rabbits would probably use tall grass to hide in (if there was any available) to escape danger. Rabbits are pretty fast and don't tend to venture too far away from their burrows. They also use body language to warn fellow rabbits that danger is coming.

Arctic hares are pure white and can camouflage perfectly agaist the snow, in the summer their winter coat moults and changes colour from white to brown. Which is a perfect colour for the summer scenery.

What are rabbit's long ears for?

Rabbit's ears are long, as long as 10 cm (4 inches), so that they can listen to the surrounding sounds of predators and they can sense danger with them. They can also help the rabbit camouflage itself in bushes, so it can be down low in the grass but leave its ears sticking up to hear clearer. Because the ears are thin, they can let the heat out through them.
