They are showing dominance over the new male dog. If the dog allows it, he is lower in the dog pack. If he doesn't allow it and is willing to fight for his position in the pack, he will be left alone.
If you're not in the mood, you're not in the mood'nuff said
Make sure your female dog is in season and the male would normally just go for it. Also, try to make them spend a lot of time together before this happens, because if the female doesn't like the male, she'll (metaphorically) bite his head off.
try again
She is probably in heat. When females are in heat they give off a smell male dogs have to run after. And multiple males will probably follow her and each will try to mount her. Watch out if you don't want puppies!
It is not appropriate or responsible to encourage or allow a dog to mount other dogs. This behavior can lead to fights or escalate aggression. If your dog is mounting other dogs, it is best to redirect their behavior through training and supervision. Consider seeking advice from a professional dog trainer or behaviorist for guidance.
For the same reason that virtually any male that's had a vasectomy is still interested in sex. The dynamics are a bit different but it's the same principle.
Most females will only allow a male to mount them if they are in heat as this is the time when they are most fertile. Although some females will allow a dog to mate them whilst they are not in heat, there is less chance of the female getting pregnant.
yes if he gets the chance he will and then he will get VERY dominating towards the dominant male to try to get dominance over him
Yes it can! It may mount you or another dog if it's in heat, a puppy, or if it hasn't been neutered/spayed. If a dog does mound you, tell it to "Get off!" or "No!"
dont let your male dog near the pups until they are about 10 weeks. or so. the male dog might try to eat them :o
He will try to mate with her, stand up on her back & hump her. If she is not fixed she will get pregnant.
No, this is not odd. Male guinea pigs love to breed. They will try with any in their cage. Male pigs should be housed alone because of this.
