Manx cats come from the Isle of Man. Those bred there have their tails docked at a young age. A manx cat with a tail is usually one that has been bred off the island, or in unusual cases, by a breeder who does not practice tail-docking.

It is also very easy to confuse a Silver Tabby runt for a manx cat with a tail, as the two have similar colours & markings.
