Why is a Siamese cat colored the way they are?

The different coat colors/patterns is due to other cat breeds and basic genetics. Ultimately, no cat breed is "Purebred" since it took other breeds to produce that one breed. For example, a seal point Siamese has a very dark face, tail, paws, and ears because of the warmth in its body. It is born white because its mothers womb was always warm.

One possible reason for having darker points is to prevent skin cancer on the ears and face, which is a threat to completely white cats.
