The 'Red Panda' was originally an underwater animal, whose habitat consisted of fresh water lakes spread throughout Euroasia and much of the rest of the planet. Millions of years ago some of the Red Pandas ancestors adapted to life on land and the nose with which to breath and filter air was adapted for life on land. They are now very distinctly different in almost all ways from other animals whom also decend from similar origins.
