many of the store brand dog foods are packed with fillers, which go in one end, and come out the other. Low residue foods contain less fillers. The less that comes out, means the more the dog is retaining as beneficial food. One of the most common fillers is soy meal, so, try to find a brand that has no soy. If you go to a pet food shop, discuss your dogs age and activity level with someone who ,is knoledgable, and find the correct protein level for you dog. An active, in it's prime dog generally requires about 21-23 % protein, but as they age and slow down, the protein content should be reduced.
Touchy tummies.

Regular dog food can be very expensive sometimes, so I would imagine that diabetic dog food would cost a lot. You can actually make your own diabetic dog food. www.ehow.com/facts_5256711_dog-food-diabetes.html
we would normally go into tesco to get our dog some food but you can go anywhere
Normal food is better. You don't know what is in dog food and plus it would taste horrible.
Has this drug been prescribed for your dog by a veterinarian? If so, how did he tell you to use it? I would call the vet and ask for instructions on how to give it to your pet. If it was NOT prescribed by a vet, and is for human use for seizures, then DO NOT give it to your dog. Take your dog to a vet if it is having seizures.
dog food would probably work
I would like to no if there is a recall in iams dog food
I would look at your dog food brand's website to find out if they have any coupons for you to use.
It is not recommended for a human to take levothyroxine prescribed for a dog as the dosages and formulations are different. Human medications should only be taken by humans and prescribed by a healthcare professional.

"Prescription food" is prescribed from the vet specificity for your dog. However, many vets don't know very much about dog nutrition and many practices are sponsored by brands such as Hill's and Royal Canin. For the most part, these foods are not great quality and are expensive for what they are. Research the food, and the health issue your dog has. If you absolutely need prescription food, you could probably get these foods cheaper online or at a pet store than at the vet practice.
