Will giving a cat a bath kill it?

No, but it might give you a few good scratches. I have bathed cats before but usually it is not necessary, because cats are very clean animals usually and will lick themselves clean. But if the cat has gotten in grease or some other substance that could harm it, it will need a bath. Use warm (NOT hot or cold) water and a mild soap such as a cat shampoo or baby shampoo. Do not use dishwashing liquid or adult human shampoo, as these are too harsh for the cat's skin.

No they won't we give our littlest cat a shower every week. (he is about 4 months old) but i don't advise giving cats with sharp claws and that are big. (we have 2 big cats we don't give showers. During the shower our cats keeps on "meowing" after we are done we dry him with a towel & a hair dryer then he smells nice. We can't find any normal cat shampoo so we use dog shampoo but it still works fine for us. I won't give cats with sharp claws because they may scratch you but our little cat jumps at our shower walls :)

Cats don't need baths as often as dogs. They clean themselves very well with their tongues. Too many baths dry out their skin. Tongues of cats have raspy surface.
