I saw this happen two days ago Caladonia county, VT. Coyote came running out of the woods into a field. 25 yards behind, a deer chased it. The coyote zigged and zagged a couple times and the deer chased right behind. The doe stopped and the coyote keep going.

A deer is much larger than a coyote and has sharp, fast hooves. A single coyote would not take on a deer normally. Too much chance of an injury that could mean less successful hunting and/or starvation?
