If your guinea pig is biting, it might be do to one of two reasons. Either your guinea pig thinks that your fingers look tasty, or he doesn't feel safe and feels the need to defend himself. If it is the first case, I would recommend keeping your fingers away from his mouth, if it is the later problem, I would say that you should continue to handle him regularly in a quiet room. When you handle a guinea pig, it is important to make slow movements to be certain he knows what is happening. I find that talking in a low quiet voice while petting slowly and softly helps make the guinea pig feel more at ease.

guinea pigs will do what they want, until they are trained otherwise. If it bites you say, "bad pig", but not too loud (you don't want to hurt their ears).

It could have irratated skin. Maybe you should change mulch or the food.
