PLM: Product Lifecycle Management

I'm still trying to work out the difference between EDM and PDM. Both seem to focus on archiving, securing, and otherwise managing engineering data. They're set up to make data sharing easier in terms of revision control and searchability, and they also support automating workflows. PLM takes it to the next level to support and integrate with departments away from engineering.
