Technically a computerized database is NOT always need in business. Many smaller businesses do perfectly well with a box of file cards, a Rolodex, folders in a file cabinet, etc. to maintain their records. However when this becomes cumbersome as the business grows computerization of these records in a computer database system can really simplify and speed up things.
