To appreciate someone you respect who they are. You respect the things you do & you're thankful for them.
When politely declining to give someone your number, you can simply say, "I appreciate the offer, but I prefer not to share my number."
You can respond with a simple "Thank you for your sympathy" or "I appreciate your concern."
To politely correct someone about the spelling of your name, you can simply say, "I appreciate it, but my name is actually spelled correct spelling."
just give them a thank you and get it done with
