You will often have occasion to use a portion of a quote. The correct way to use this partial quotation is to lead into it with a series of dots which are enclosed within the quotation marks that contain the portion of the quote you want to use. This would look like this: "...quote from the middle...".
A(blank space) Notion
Certainly! What specifically would you like a quote on? Give me some details so I can provide an accurate quote for you.
I believe that quote is from To Kill A Mockingbird. You can find it on page 38, if my source is correct. I think her brother said it.

To misdirect = to point the wrong way Probably this questin is linked to "misquote" question. I think that you can misdirect a quote by attributing it to a person that has NT said that. In misquote you falsify the words themseves in misdirection the quote is correct, but attributed to the wrong person. Like the famous quote "Let them eat cake", which was never said by the wife of Louis XVI Marie Antoinette, but by Marie Therese of Spain, wife of Louis XIV. But please handle my answer with suspicion as I am not sure I am correct in this. Other answers appreciated.

To write an assertion you introduce the quote or example, document the quote or example, then add commentary. If it is a quote from a book, then it will look like this. Intro to quote. "Quote" then (page # in parenthesis) then a period. Commentary (why you picked the quote, about the quote, etc). Hope this helped! =)
