The "optional" would depend on how high the heels are and how experienced the wearer is with extra high heels. It's not worth breaking one's neck to be the wearer of stiletto heels. Females with wide (medium) width feet do much better with high heels. Those with narrow feet usually do better to stick with lower heels.
