  • In crowded cities etiquette pretty much goes out the window and people are bumping into others without so much as an apology. However, the correct etiquette in the street is to at least say 'sorry' if you should bump into someone accidentally; if you bump into someone and the other person drops something you should stop and pick it up for them. If someone asks for directions to the best of your ability you should tell them. Whether a man or woman doors should be held open and this includes elevator doors. If on the the wild side of the city (bad side of town) keep car doors locked at all times; if you need directions try to find a police officer or at the very least go to a gas station; don't stop until you have too and keep your cell phone handy and if at all possible have someone go with you.
