after you dry yourself, you towel sits and has to air dry which is ok for a little bit, but over time your loose skin cells and other debris including mold spores can form on the towel making it filthy and giving it a pretty terrible odor at that. you can usually use a towel a few days but yes, you are gonna wanna wash them regularly.
