you start by finding something that needs doing with skate shops. such as, no one makes the old school boards, so you do. thus, you have your gimick. at that point, you start making a name for yourself. once people know who you are, they tell other people and so on and so forth. at THIS point, you should be able to afford a shop front, and you'll not only be able to sell your boards but other boards, making it a well-rounded skate shop.
