A pyramid is a polyhedron (many-sided shape) with a polygonal (many-sided area) base and at least three triangular faces that converge at the apex (the top, or highest, point). A pyramid with a triangular base is known as a tetrahedron. In common usage, a pyramid has a square base and four triangular lateral sides (like the stone pyramids in Egypt).
pyramids have a triangular base. As a triangle has three sides, the pyramid will have three sides. Although you can get square based pyramids which have four sides. ---------------------------------------------- The Egyptian pyramids are 4 sided not 3 sided.
A cube has 12 edges. A 4-sided pyramid has 8 edges. A 3-sided pyramid has 6 edges. There are also other pyramids with more sides.

No a square is 2 sided a cube is 4 sided
There are several: a tetrahedron with 4 equilateral triangles. An 8-sided solid (think of 2 Egyptian pyramids, turn one upside down and put the two square bases together). A 20-sided also has equilateral triangles.

yes
When did EGYPTIAN build smooth sided pyramids
no
no they are all 5 sided!
Heptagonal pyramids, if you consider the base a side. Octagonal pyramids, if you don't.

IF you count the base five, if not 4. I would know because i made a cardboard one and then i found out it was 4 so i had to startover. It sucked. And i thought it was three!
they changed it because they were to lazy to walk up steps so they changed it to flat sided because they wanted to get their motorized wheel chairs up the side
