Opinion # 2The Bible has indeed been written by a great many people over time. That plus the many different versions tranlated over the last several centuries. Faith plays a large role in whether one wishes to "trust" what is written in any given version of the Bible. If you believe that God has inspired all of the writers and translators to truly write down what He wants, then of course you can trust His Word. However, if you don't believe, then it probably appears disjointed, contradictory, corruptible, historically inaccurate, and self-serving.
