The Bible doesn't tell us a whole lot about that. There is however one mention made of Jesus writing with his finger on the sand in John 8:6 and in Luke 4:17-19 Jesus is appears to be reading from the prophecy of Isaiah. I believe He did know how to read and write, but He didn't need to. He never got any education, but He knew the scriptures to the letter, so that the pharisees wondered. - John 7:15
The Bible was written for the uneducated and meant to be read aloud. It was more than likely first written in Aramaic, the language Jesus spoke when he taught and later it would be translated in Greek and Latin.
He did not "write" it but spoke it when the apostles asked him how they should pray.
1) God gave us the Bible so that we could know Him. 2) So that we can know His Son, Jesus Christ. 3) So that we can know the way to God through Jesus Christ in salvation. 4) So that after salvation we can know how to conduct our lives. 5) So that we can read the Old Testament to see the examples that He has put in there for our benefit. 6) So that we can read of the history that God has put down for Israel. 7) So we can read about the history of the New Testament and the start of the New Covenant. 8) So we can read the prophecy's and know what is in our future as well as see the prophecy's that have already been fulfilled and praise God that His Word is true and can be trusted.
