What is the answer? I've always wondered this too.
The same as all the other double-headed / tailed coins out there - a couple of bucks in a novelty shop, zero to a coin collector. It's a privately-made novelty item called a magician's coin.
Not sure but a good place to look would be on eBay where there are thousands of coins for auction and saleAnswerThere is no such thing as a silver penny. 1963 would have been about the time I was taking high school chemistry. no dont ask me
All US half dollars intended for circulation have a person on the obverse. Prior to 1948 it had a personification of Liberty on the obverse. From 1948-1963 it had Benjamin Franklin on the obverse. From 1964-present it features John F. Kennedy on the obverse.
The coin is likely a common error called a "Machine Double" that has no extra value, but take it to a dealer to make sure.

1. British, not Canadian 2. Standard size for a pre-1971 British penny, not an extra large cent. 3. The goddess Britannia, not a Roman warrior. Assuming that at least the date is as stated, your coin is common among collectors and retails for about a quarter.
$0.01 in 1963 had the same buying power as $0.08 in 2016.

One penny
This is not a penny made by the US mint. It is most likely only worth it's metal value.
