Like this: 7 billion humans on Earth and we would need 1.5 Earths to supply everyone,

so 7 000 000 000 / 1.5 =4 666 666 666. The maximum number of people who should be alive at the same time on Earth is a little more than four and a half billion. At that number we were in year 1980.

Math don't solve the question how would we prevent those people to reproduce though.
