No one keeps track of how many coins of a given type are in circulation. But given the amount of misinformation about half dollars* it's a safe bet that any that show up in circulation today would be hoarded by people who think they're valuable.

Truth: Only those dated 1969 or earlier have any silver. The rest are copper-nickel like dimes and quarters.

Truth: NO modern US coin, even the horrible Susan B. Anthony dollar, has ever been withdrawn.

Partly True: They're no longer minted for circulation but new ones are made every year for collectors.

They didn't. However, the mint doesn't make as many as they used to, because so few are ever used in general circulation. The ones still made today are primarily sold to collectors.
The 1964 Kennedy half dollar contain 11.25 grams of silver. Kennedy half dollars from 1965 through 1970 contain 4.60 grams of silver.

The U.S. Mint has never made a "Memorial" Kennedy half dollar. Many different society's have counter stamped & gold plated Kennedy half dollars an sold them as "Memorial" coins. The coins are considered altered and have no numismatic value.
