A:Preliminary census figures suggest that in 2011 only around 54 per cent of British people identified as Christians. A follow-up survey conducted by IpsosMORI says that 24 per cent of those who identified as Christians (13 per cent of Britons) actually believe in the teachings of Christianity, and only 22 per cent read The Bible more or less regularly - about 12 per cent of the British population.
