According to God's Word: the "first death" that all men die, IS APPOINTED TO US.
"...it is APPOINTED unto men ONCE TO DIE..." (Heb.9:27).
Yet, The Bible speaks of a "SECOND DEATH" that MAY be experienced at Judgment Day [depending upon the judgment rendered], from which there shall be no resurrection.
"...This is the FIRST RESURRECTION. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the First Resurrection: on such THE SECOND DEATH hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years." (Rev.20:5-6)
The first resurrection prophesied takes place when Jesus returns. He will at that time gather His "elect" unto Himself to appoint to positions, offices and thrones of rulership and authority to co-rule His Kingdom with Him for His thousand year rule of the earth.
"...he that overcometh, and keepeth My works unto the end [of their lives, or until Jesus returns; whichever comes first], to him WILL I GIVE POWER OVER THE NATIONS: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron..." (Rev.2:26-27).
"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall NOT BE HURT OF THE SECOND DEATH." (Rev.2:11)
At the end of the thousand years... all the rest of the generations of men who died, who were not called by God, will resurrect and have the Truth of God revealed to their hearts and minds [spirits] for the first time... and decide, then, whether or not they will accept God's rule over them and obey His laws... and receive God's gift of salvation [Eternal Life]:
"...But those Mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and SLAY THEM BEFORE ME." (Luke 19:27)
It's at this time... the time of the Judgment [a thousand years after Jesus returns]... that the SECOND DEATH may be experienced by the rebellious wicked who refuse Jesus' salvation.
The books of the Bible will be opened, and the works of all men's lives will be judged by the measuring stick of what is written there.
"...He that rejecteth Me, and RECEIVETH NOT MY WORDS, hath one that JUDGETH HIM: the WORD THAT I HAVE SPOKEN [the Holy Bible], THE SAME SHALL JUDGE HIM IN THE LAST DAY." (John 12:48)
"...I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and THE BOOKS WERE OPENED... and the dead WERE JUDGED OUT OF THOSE THINGS WHICH WERE WRITTEN IN THE BOOKS, according to their works... they were judged every man according to their works. THIS IS THE SECOND DEATH. And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life WAS CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE." (Rev.20:12-15)
ONE DEATH is appointed to all men.
But a SECOND DEATH is waiting for the wicked.
"He that overcometh shall inherit all things [the universe]; and I will be his God, and HE SHALL BE MY SON. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the Lake of Fire which burneth with fire and brimstone: WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH." (Rev.21:7-8)
