The word "rapture" is not in the King James Version of the Bible. It is a word invented later to describe what takes place in 1 Thessalonians 4:17, which says, "Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

In the same manner, The Bible does not contain the word "omnipotent," yet God is all-powerful, and the word "omnipotent" means "all-powerful." The Bible does not contain the word "omniscient," but God is all-knowing, and "omniscient" mean "all-knowing."
