In the King James version

the word - yes - appears 4 times

  1. Mat 17:25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? Of their own children, or of strangers?
  2. Mar 7:28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.
  3. Rom 3:29 Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
  4. Rom 10:18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

This is a mater of the preference of the translators, I suspect, as the word "Yea" appears over 300 times and is, in spoken English - an common alternate (especially in poetry) to Yes. And much of The Bible language is seen as poetic.
