A teacher's income varies state by state. A new teacher's without a master's degree earn approximately $45 to 50,000 a year in a public school . If a teacher however gets a master's degree the pay goes up to aprroximately $60 to 70,000. Special Education, Math, Science, Dual Language, and other licences can increase a teacher's pay. If a teacher is willing to work after school, mentor younger teachers, or work in summer school, their pay increases. Any additional credits gain increase your pay. Some teachers after working 10 years can make up to $100,000.

Private schools pay much less for the same amount of work.
