It means that people within the group started to disagree with one another. There was a division of thought. This is something that can cause discord and weakness within the group. It states in the Bible, "A house divided can not stand." In order for a group to experience success, they must be of one mind, one purpose. In other words, there must be mutual respect, with a common cause. Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. Mark 13:8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. The verses provided above do not relate to the question. The divisions Jesus spoke of in those references were between believers and nonbelievers. Those are certain and unavoidable. Paul is addressing a specific group of believers only when he condemns the divisions among them. 1 Corinthians 1:10 -Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. One of the problems at Corinth was that some thought of themselves as followers of Paul, some of Apollos, some of Peter (Cephas), and some of Christ (see 1 Cor. 1:12), and there was a real danger of the church breaking into factions based on these ideas. Paul reminded them that Christ alone died for their sins, and it is to Him alone, not any man or group of men, that Christians owe their allegiance. ----
No, it's interdenominational so that could cause a conflict. When I graduated from Moody Bible Institute in the late 60s the King James Bible was used in all Bible study and theology classes and all Bible memory verses were to be from the King James Bible. However, I think today that they have gone to a modern Bible which is supposed to be "better", but in reality waters down God's Word to make it more pleasing to all people. I wish they would have stuck with the King James Bible.
i think cause it is very important to the world so they made it differently.
It's not. There is no mention of Delilah's adultery, Delilah being Samson's wife, in the Bible. However, Delilah did engage in treason and deceitful behavior, using sex to elicit from Samson the cause of his strength and cutting his hair when she discovered this to be the source of his power.
The origin of the phrase comes from the Bible. However, it's not "money is the root cause of all evil." The phrase is "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil." Basically, this means that greed causes us to do evil.
1. Church rules are not based on the bible, BELIEFS are but not rules 2. Dogs are not allowed in church because they'd cause a ruckus
He translated the bible so not just the church could read it,he wanted the common people to be able to read the bible aswell.
Division in the Bible means the same as it does in math. It means to split apart or divide. There were divisions within the early church just as there is today. People had different worshiping practices which set them apart and caused some groups to think that they had the best or only way to worship. Within a single church these differences caused 'divisions' which would cause the church to split and a separate church would form. In some instances this caused friction between the churches. In others it allows the church to grow. My tribe against your tribe. My religion Against your religion. My god against your god. My prophet against your prophet, Summary: As highlighted by both answers above it means division among God's people and also between different groups of people. The first is more commonly addressed, since God's people should be united.=== ===

He thought they would tear the nation apart. His fear was political parties spring divisions that could eventually cause divisions in the country.

Divisions in a school can be caused from racism, and other problems with specific people, races, or ethnicities. Lack of morals can also cause a divide.
The Roman Catholic church may not follow the bible explicitly however they promote morality in all nations and cultures. Much of Africa is immoral however, wars and disease run rampant through northern Africa. The catholic church has nothing to dO with that.
