C. H. Dodd (The Apostolic Preaching and Its Developments) set out his concept of the kerygma. His "pattern" of the kerygma has been accepted by many theologians:

(1) The age of fulfilment has dawned;

(2) This has taken place through the ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus;

(3) By virtue of the resurrection, Jesus has been exalted at the right hand of God;

(4) The Holy Spirit in the church is the sign of Jesus' present power and glory;

(5) The Messianic Age will shortly reach its consummation in the return of Christ;

(6) An appeal for repentance, an offer of forgiveness and a promise of salvation.

More than anything, the passages about John the Baptist tell us that the age of fulfilment has dawned.

The gospels in their entirety comprise story of the ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus.

Romans, Hebrews and Acts of the Apostles contains several references to Jesus on the right hand of God.

The Books of Luke/Acts are, more than any others, stories of the Holy Spirit. Acts tells how the Holy Spirit descended like tongues of flame on the disciples.

The earliest reference to the imminent return of Christ is in Mark's Gospel, which has Jesus say that he would return in clouds of glory within the lifetime of those then still living. The subsequent gospel authors had to recognise that was no longer possible, because the generation of whom Mark spoke had already passed. They said that the return was imminent, but that no-one could know when.

Appeals for repentance, offers of forgiveness and promises of salvation occur throughout the New Testament.

What are the kinds of Bible?

the has no kinds it has major parts its part is OLD TESTAMENT AND NEW TESTAMENT the bible has no kinds it has major parts and these major parts are OLD TESTAMENT AND NEW TESTAMENT OLD TESTAMENT - refers to the books that form the first of the two-part Christian Biblical canon. These works correspond to the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh), with some variations and additions. In the Eastern Orthodox Church the comparable texts are known as the Septuagint, from the original Greek translation of the Hebrew scriptures. In the Syriac Orthodox church, they are known as the Peshitta. The term "Old Testament" itself is credited to Melito of Sardis.[1] Tertullian also used the Latin vetus testamentum. The Old Testament in the Protestant, Roman Catholic, and Greek Orthodox Bibles have 39 books in common.[2] Scholars believe much of the Old Testament was written inMesopotamia.[3] It is believed the Old Testament was composed and compiled between the 12th and the2nd century BC.[4] Jesus and hisdisciples referenced it when discussing Jesus's newer teachings, referring to it as "the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms... the scriptures". (Luke 24:44-45) The accounts of Jesus and his disciples are recorded in the New Testament. NEW TESTAMENT - is the name given to the second major division of the Christian Bible, the first such division being the much longer Old Testament. The New Testament is sometimes called the Greek New Testament or Greek Scriptures, or the New Covenant. The original texts were written by various authors after c. AD 45, in Koine Greek, the lingua franca of the eastern part of the Roman Empire. Its books were gradually collected into a single volume. Although Christian denominations differ as to which works are included in the New Testament, the majority have settled on the same twenty-seven book canon: it consists of the four narratives of the life and death ofJesus, called "Gospels"; a narrative of the Apostles' ministries in the early church, probably by the same author as the Gospel of Luke, which it continues; twenty-one early letters, commonly called "epistles" in Biblical context, written by various authors and consisting mostly of Christian counsel and instruction; and an Apocalyptic prophecy.
