I personally could find no record of the crowds reaction to Jesus' baptism in the four Gospels. It is stated however in at least three of the Gospels that the Heavens opened up when he was baptized so one could safely assume that the surrounding crowd of people were fairly amazed to say the least.
When he was being baptisedIn the King James versionMat 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
Like a dove - never as a person:Matthew 3:16New King James Version (NKJV)16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
1 cor 15 verse 6.
In the bible it says saul meets jesus on the road to Damascus, and is blinded.
Just about all God's prophets & saints that saw or heard a Godly or Angelic revelation were filled with fear, as per Peter's pronouncement when he saw the huge catch of fishes that Jesus commanded: When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. (Luke 5.8)
The gospels say that Jesus then saw the heavens open and the Spirit descend on him like a dove. In Mark's Gospel, only Jesus saw this, but in John's Gospel, John the Baptist also saw the heavens open and the Spirit descend on Jesus like a dove.
John doesn't prevent Jesus from being baptized, John baptizes Jesus. John doesn't want to baptize Jesus because john knows who Jesus is but Jesus tells him it is the right things to do. Matthew 3:13-16 At that time Jesus arrived from Galilee and came to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. But John tried to make him change his mind. "I ought to be baptized by you," John said, "and yet you have come to me!" But Jesus answered him, "Let it be so for now. For in this way we shall do all that God requires." So John agreed. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he came up out of the water. Then heaven was opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God coming down like a dove and lighting on him.
there is a material left by Jesus in any museum and some paintings that shows when John the baptist was putting the sacred water in the forehead of Jesus actually Jesus was completely IMMERSED in the Jordan rive as was the practice see Mark 1:10 " and immediately on coming up out of the water he saw the Heavens being parted and like a dove the Spirit came down upon him" (pixilated)
Yes.As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him [Matthew 3:16]
When he was being baptisedIn the King James versionMat 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
the people were overcome with emotions
John the Baptist saw Jesus become the Messiah, and he also bears witness to the spirit of a dove. John the Baptist also baptized Jesus.
People crucified Jesus because they saw him as a threat to their religious and political power.
The Bible mentions that near the end of 29 C.E. that about six months after John the Baptist begins preaching, Jesus, who was about 30 years old, came to John at the Jordan River to get baptized. Jehovah God had promised John a sign so that he could identify the Messiah. John saw that sign at Jesus’ baptism. Matthew 3:16,17 mentions, “After being baptized, Jesus immediately came up from the water; and look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw God’s spirit descending like a dove and coming upon him. Look! Also, a voice from the heavens said: ‘This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.’” After seeing and hearing what happened, John had no doubt that Jesus was sent by God. (John 1:32-34) Jesus' baptism showed that he was presenting himself to do the will of his heavenly Father who sent him to earth. (New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures)
According to the Bible, Jesus was seen by over 500 people after his resurrection.
After Saul saw Jesus in a vision, he was temporarily blinded ,but saw the truth in his heart. After than he changed his name to Paul and taught people to know and love Jesus. :)
It isn't stated if there were specific Romans who saw Jesus, but it is possible since large groups of people saw Him.
